LCAP Survey Window Now Open!

In 2013, California adopted a new formula for deciding how much money each school district receives. California schools are now funded under a new model known as the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). As part of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), school districts are required to develop, adopt, and annually update a three-year Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP).  The LCAP must focus on eight areas identified as California’s educational priorities as well as its own local priorities. The eight state priority areas are: Basic Services, Common Core, Parental Involvement, Student Achievement, Student Engagement, School Climate, Course Access, and Other Student Outcomes.

School districts will decide how to use the funds, but under the new system districts are required to get input from their local communities. To accomplish this, we are gathering community input. Your participation is critical in this decision-making process, and we appreciate your assistance with this survey. The Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) is LCFF’s vehicle for transparency and engagement.

We are asking that you take a few minutes to provide us your feedback about this year’s programs and how to best use our funds for next year (201819). Please visit the following web location to participate in the LCAP Parent and Community Survey between the dates of December 11th to 20th.  The survey can be found at:

The survey can also be accessed by going to Click on “Family Resources” and then choose “LCAP Survey”. Then select either the English or Spanish version of the survey links to participate in the LCAP Parent and Community Survey between the dates of December 11th to 20th.

In an effort to support parent participation for this online survey, our school will be providing two days in which computers will be available to allow for survey completion. Parents are welcome to come to Hillview Middle School on Dec 11th Dec 20th to access computers and take the Parent LCAP Survey.  Thank you in advance for your feedback as this will inform our District Advisory LCAP Group in updating our Local Control Accountability Plan for next year.
